Fanari offers various programs for Children, Adults as well as a preparation for the Examination for the Certificates of Attainment in Greek Apollonas (registration)Apollonas is a track designed for children that have none or limited exposure to the Greek language. Classes are taught in a mixture of Greek and English to assist the child in learning the new language. Classes meet twice a week for two hours (or one and a half hour for pre-kinder garden) each time.Artemi (registration)Artemi is a track designed for children that can speak and understand enough Greek to be able to participate in a Greek taught environment. The primary focus is enhancing the child's Greek vocabulary as well as teaching proper grammar and syntax. Classes meet twice a week for two hours (or one and a half hour for pre-kinder garden) each time.Greek MythologyIn collaboration with the San Jose Union school district we offer, for the second year, our popular series of courses aimed to introduce students to the magical world of greek mythology. Classes are currently held at Oster Elementary (grades 3 to 5) and Union Middle (grades 6 to 9). Preparation for the Examination for the Certificates of Attainment in GreekThis program prepares the student to take the exam of the Greek language given by the Greek Ministry of Education. A certificate is issued for successful candidates at four levels, A, B, C and D. The examination covers all four language skills; Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, Essay Writing and Speaking. The student must be at least 12 years old for level A and B and 15 years old for C and D. More information about the Certificates can be found here. Class activities include conversation in everyday situations, essay writing, listening to various news reports, and reading articles/advertisements from newspapers/internet.TuitionWe are still in the process of determining the tuition amounts for 2011-12.No student will be turned down because of financial hardship.
